Small-Group Discussion: Vaccine Passports

 

Task: In this assignment, students will be tasked with preparing for, and participating in a discussion with a small group of their peers.

 

Discussion Topic: Should people be required to get Vaccine passports in order to travel, eat in restaurants, etc?

 

Directions: 

  1. Read/Watch/Listen to a minimum of THREE texts
  2. Prepare for Discussion (due prior to discussion)
    1. Research and Annotate
      1. Identify the main idea/claim from the article(s)/text(s)
      2. Identify important quotes that support or argue against vaccine passports
      3. Form your own opinion
      4. Support your opinion with evidence from the text(s)
  3. Participate in the discussion
    1. Consistently make meaningful contributions
    2. Listen and build on others’ ideas
    3. Be respectful
    4. Stay on topic
    5. Work with others to reach a conclusion

 

Products: You will submit your preparation on Canvas. Readable Font (Times New Roman), Size 12, Double-spaced. File type must be Doc, Docx, or PDF. The discussion will be graded in breakout rooms over the course of two classes.

 

Grading: You will be graded on a total of  2 standards for a total of 20 summative points.
